My wife (game name Catoosa) got a phone call Tuesday (of last week) from my states DHS (Dept of Human Services).
Pair of 16 month old twins was in emergency placement status looking for kinship foster parents (i.e. us).
These little darlings have been in a shelter for most of their lives.
Our 3 bedroom house in effect only had one bedroom and my house is not kid proof – so we have been busy moving and getting ready for this.
So it appears that I will only be in game but a fraction of the time I once was, if much at all.
(Also my wife said my priorities have now changed so my time online will be limited …).
I still have plans on playing/stopping by when I can.
I would like to catch Kasper in game soon, and give him some (or a lot of) Poe to make sure my shops/stalls rent keep paid - in return, I will give him the shop Great Balls of Iron as a gift to him (as well as for all of his hard work he has put into it).
The kid’s names are Alex and Savannah.

Bud, I wish you and your wife, and the twins, much happiness!
Kids are a lot of work, but they are so sweet. Even the hardest times are well worth it! Enjoy!

now that you should have settled in with a schedule pattern, how is life with the twins now? _________________ Duct tape is like the Force. It has a light side, a dark side, and it holds the universe together.

Update
Kids are doing wonderful.
They will be turning 20 months in a couple of weeks.
Savanna is pretty smart for her age.
Alex would rather use his brawn - than his head. Also he is lagging behind on learning words and stuff.
Both are wearing us out.
I have a little more free time in late evenings now but my internet connection has not been very kind to me lately (my 5+ megabit internet is acting more like a dialup modem) but will be online more soon.
Also just completed parenting class, which has been, um, different.
In Oklahoma (a state of roughly 3 million people?) right now, we have 12,000+ kids who do not have foster parents yet so they are still in shelters – yet they really make people who can really help some of these kids – jump through a lot of beaurocratic hoops to do anything.
Also, my understanding is getting kids younger than school age, is not easy.
There are lots of good pictures of them but hadn’t spent any time on downloading them somewhere, yet. |
