I'm looking for some help naming a black/gold parrot.
Some of the names suggested so far (off the top of my head):
Steelie
Glitter
Glitz
Satin
Steel Bandit
Minime
Jewel
Gem
Frosting
Trinket
Any others? _________________ ~ Sindaia ~

Okay, working with the Black/Gold colouring, I've got the following, based on the two things people most often think of as black gold: oil, and coffee.
Slick
Texas Tea
Java
Coffee
Jamocha
Espresso
If I think of any others, I'll add 'em _________________ Sante

I was thinking maybe something along the lines of how you won it. Like maybe Swift or something like that. _________________ Officer, Card Sharp, and Flag Liason of The Lost Lot. |

Swift is good. If you wanted obscure, you could try Pheidippedes (the original runner from Marathon to Athens), but it's a cow to spell! _________________ Sante

Also along the lines of how you won it...Scavenger or Hunter (tho that is also an ocean...).
Congrats (s)he's cute!!! Hmm...maybe you should name it Carrol... _________________ Personality opens doors; character keeps them open. |

If you're going with the whole "Fool's Gold" idea, Pyrite might be a nice name.
Also you get the whole "misspelled pirate" thing going there, and all sorts of puns. Pyrite the Parrot? Pyrite and Pirate! |

So far, I'm kinda leaning towards:
Hei-jin (top choice so far, I love the whole.. whatever you call it :p )
Pyrite (kinda avoiding because of the whole, "Pyrite the Pirate Parrot" thing) :p
Espresso
Texas Tea is another I like, but kinda avoiding for the same reasons I'm trying to avoid calling it anything (Pittsburgh) Steeler based (team colors are black & gold, too)
Any other suggestions?
(Btw, Tilinka ended up naming hers Souffle, for anyone that was curious) _________________ ~ Sindaia ~ |

If you do decide to go for "Hei-jin" I'm not sure if you can use a dash in the name, but you can use an apostrophe (I did in mine).
Espresso is kinda fun too =)
And with Pyrite, funny enough, I never thought of the pun on "pirate"...I guess that's what I get for "seeing" words rather than pronouncing them in my head. _________________ Korr

Ooh great suggestions. I really like "Hei-Jin" and "Espresso"
I was pretty stumped by finding a name for a black/gold parrot. But I'll throw some random ones at ye (even though I think theyre crap and you shouldnt use them ):
Nightingale
Siskin (A gold black finch-like bird)
Carat
Dubluun
Shinetop
Tarchest
... and they just get worse, so I'll stop there _________________ ~~~ ^_____^ ~~~ |

Hehehe...there was a tournament for SF earlier that was called, "YARRR, I'm a Pyrite!". The prize was a Lump of Coal.
