So it's finally getting to that time of the year again....it's the time when Jezz and I start to think about our holidays and where we want to go and what we want to do.
Why should you care, you may be asking yourself....and that's probably a very good question
Well this year Jezz and I are planning what could be described as the holiday of a lifetime.....we are planning a 6-8 week trip to Australia. This will be mainly all about having our one big holiday before we start thinking about little Spacebell's and Jezzihogs (or something like that!)...but also possibly looking into the option of emigration.
So again, why should you care......
Well I had a crazy idea that maybe on top of this we might attempt to meet up with some of our fellow Losties, but that's only if anybody actually wants to see us that is....
Our plans as they stand at the moment is to go on holiday October/November (I know that's a bit in the future but something like this requires a LOT of planning). Traveling from England, stopping somewhere along the way (Singapore, Hong Kong) to either Adelaide or Melbourne. From there travel east along the coast and up through Sydney, finishing at some point up there (Cairns maybe). Then moving from there to possibly New Zealand and then finally heading back to the UK....but this time via America...so there is a distinct possibility we could land somewhere in the US and travel/sightsee/visit a little on our way back.
As I say this could be Spacehog being typically strange and freaky, and this just won't work out at all.....but by the same token I won't know unless I try.
So either post or PM your thoughts, even if all it contains is suggestions of places we should visit whilst in these countries......but I honestly think it would be so cool to meet a few of our fellow mates in person....... _________________ I have CDO....that's Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, but alphabetically.....like it should be! |

LAX (los angeles international airport) isn't too far from me. If you can fly around the world, I can drive two hours to see you. =) _________________ Korr

I'd love to meet ya both, but I'm a good few hours off any major airport, and couldn't get you any lodging or transportation XD
And if it's when I'm at home, well, my parents aren't so comfy with "strangers" from the internet :/
Be sure to wave though when you pass over/near Virginia! |

I'm in Wellington, New Zealand. It's a lovely city, but the weather in October/November can be a bit dodgy. Actually, that goes for most of NZ...
On the other hand, if you're thinking of emigrating: yes, I know Australia mostly has a better climate (except when it gets too hot :-P) . And a mostly better economy. But their house prices are mostly higher too. And they have snakes, and spiders. Big, poisonous ones! And flies that bite. We don't have snakes. We have two poisonous spiders, but one's endangered and the other (an import from Australia...) is only a bit poisonous and not exactly common. And our flies are smaller and don't bite.
And we have New Zealanders, who are polite and friendly, instead of Australians (though they're friendly too...)
Anyway, if you're thinking of emigrating, it's another destination to consider... _________________ Sante

What do you get when you cross a kangaroo and an elephant?
Holes all over Australia

We're polite too, you bloody drongo!
The only things New Zealand has over Australia are snow and the Haka
Anyway, Jade and i would love to meet you when you come through Brisbane! I can't really tell you any good places to see since i spend all my time on my computer
I went to cairns once though, you absolutely have to go snorkling on the reef. Ooh, and there's a sky-rail thingy that's pretty great too. |

Kharnor, dear, I know you're polite! And I'm often impolite. I was making gross generalisations, the last bastion of those who lack any actual supporting data.
And who're you calling a drongo, anyway? Nong! Wally! _________________ Sante

Be sure to check out Vancouver, Canada before the 2010 Winter Olympics kicks in and we get REALLY crazy.
Vancouver was once voted #3 as the most beautiful and best city to live in :p I forget which year. _________________

Woooo! Wow, an (almost-) entire world tour!!! That's so cool! And it'll be a nice time of year here, too ^ ^ (temperature somewhere between a simmer and oven-bake )
Shamefully, I am horrible when it comes to knowing the nice, notable touristy places I could take ye's to, but I'd be insanely happy to wander around with you guys and at least be able to point to the Giant Spiky thing and Wiry Bridgey thing at the harbour!! ..I hope.
I think I'll go work on my pointing-at-landmarks skills.
Anyhow. Good on you's! _________________ ~~~ ^_____^ ~~~ |

Wow!
Thanks guys for posting suggestions to meet up!! It will certainly give us lots to think about over the next few weeks as we start to put an itenerary together!
We were looking on google earth earlier on trying to figure out distances and such...and it truly is mindblowing the milleage we are talking about.
Part of our thinking is how cool it would be to do the whole "Round The World" thing, even if it's just once, just to say we've done it. And I truly hope we get to meet as many of you on our travels as we can, it'll be like reuniting with lost members of our family
And thanks for the suggestion about New Zealand Sante....as far as climate goes you have to remember we're in England....last week they had gritters out because the temp was below freezing...this week I have my sunglasses on and shirt sleeves rolled up as it's about 16-20C (might sound cold to some of you...but not to us!).
As far as emigration goes...well it's still just a thought at present, there's a lot going on at work, and I'm not happy with certain situations that are happening. But maybe emigrating is extreme and maybe it's just what we need (I know the job I do means I could almost walk into a job anywhere in the world really)....we will definitely bear NZ in mind with what we want to do (if you do a good job as a tour guide that is!!!!!). _________________ I have CDO....that's Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, but alphabetically.....like it should be! |

Stop by Malaysia to refuel/restock. And be assured that half the people here do not eat pork, so you're safe.
Plenty of good food here, you'd not wanna leave. _________________ Andikan
