I mean, just think about every small thought you have...can you imagine coding a "brainwave sequence" similar to that? Plus, you'll never be able to program emotions into a chunk of metal running on a processor. :P Some might argue the lack of feelings would make them apathetic and not bothered by the act of killing. I say what would make them want to attack a human in the first place? And, as I mentioned (Briefly) last post, just don't equip these machines with anything sharp/lethal (Cover them in rubber or something? :P) and have them move a bit slowly so that if, for whatever reason, it got violent...it wouldn't harm you too much. Maybe one or two blunt-object injuries, then you'll be able to disassemble it, I think. While not perfect (And I doubt it ever gets to that), I don't think it's life-threatening. At least not on a massive "world extinction" scale.
But it does make one hell of a conversation topic. :) I love talking about stuff like this. I think I'm going to absolutely love my Psychology class. |
Well no. People probably won't make a robot that can kill themselves but they will probably want one that will kill their enemies for them :D |

No clue how it'll be able to determine friend of foe, though. Unless, of course, the "other side" got a hold of high resolution photographs of each person they wanted killed and program the robot to try and match the two. That could be possible in a few years time. But to do that on a mass-scale? Yeah, not happening. You can't use military uniforms as a basis because uniforms can be changed quickly. Give me a robot that tries to kill me and with ample time, I could program a robot to exploit my enemy's robot and disarm it in a robot battle to the death.
I mean...I don't know. I don't see how people are getting terrified over this and list it as one of the "Top 10 Ways The World As We Know It Ends". Meteors, nuclear war, huge ass volcanoes/earthquakes, I can get behind that. Aliens and Evil AI? Naah... _________________ Faldrok |
