Just to explain quickly for those that don't know....when I talk about Jezz (another member of TLL), she and I live together, and we're getting married in June. But the way I talk about her I realise may confuse some people.
Well it was originally Jezz who discovered YPP first and after telling me all about it I decided to have a look at the game myself....liked what I saw and made the decision to keep trying and learning the game.
I jobbed and joined a few different crews (as did Jezz) and didn't really find any that felt "right", I also did have a major problem with the way the payouts were worked out with some crews. Jezz discovered a crew that split pay evenly (can't remember who), seemed to do well and got a decent pay. So next time I was online I took a bit more care reading the info on each crew before applying to job....really liked what I saw in TLL, ended up jobbing for them and joining with them after the pillage (wish I could remember who it was that jobbed me, but like many things it's lost in the mists of time now!!!!).
After being on for a while I'd mentioned about Jezz to Andi I think....who gave me a stern telling off for not having her in our crew. Which I promptly sorted out. Had a good time staying in the shadows, not really participating in very much.......I don't speak up much unless i've got something worth saying, or I'm having a laugh, but generally don't like to make a scene. But after Xenus had had a bit of a moan at Avera about not going out pillaging, I spoke up for her and after chatting to her she made me a pirate. And now after getting to know people a little better and finding people I can get on well with (/me waves at Lilith and Avera and of course all the rest!!!!!) I feel I've opened up a lot more and am really trying to do well both for and in the crew.
Then after getting a laptop, Jezz and I realised we could both pillage together...........but then.......DISASTER. We were both alts on the same login, and so it was decided that as Jezz's stats weren't as strong as myself she would have to commit Pirateycide and sign back on on her own account. Kathe was great and after Jezz's rebirth (though she has lost an L ), we're now working our way to becoming better pirates and trying to be good friends to those that want it. And who knows what may happen in the future.......................... _________________ I have CDO....that's Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, but alphabetically.....like it should be! |

You'd think I would remember things like that? I don't recalled telling you off, I just recall asking "why isn't she in TLL" or something along those lines. Never knew I exhibited any sternness then _________________ Andikan

Can't remember much from my days as a cabbie - it was a long time ago
The puzzle pirates icon on my desktop says it was created on 2 September of last year, and i joined up to the Lost Lot very soon after that.... can't remember exactly who joined me up but i think it might have been Bellflower.
I remember becoming a Pirate a bit better, though - I think it was Princessj that promoted me, barely 5 minutes after i wandered on to her sloop pillage without asking ptb |

Well how I joined the crew is:
I heard TLL was a really good crew so i went looking for a way to pillage with them, finally there was a job notice and Kusje jobbed me. He only jobbed becuase he thought i was a alt, well he was sorta right; I wasn't a alt i had played on a different, character deleted him, then started again!
And the officers on board were pleased with my perforamce in the duty puzzles so i was allowed to join, Hooray!!
PS: Deleted character called Goldenbeard _________________ I have vast experience over many different characters! |

I have been a gamer since the Atari, Pac Man and Astroids playing for hours. I ran into this game surfing another game site and was leery about downloading it. I did and had no clue what I was doing. Slowly I started asking questions, got aboard several different ships for pillages, tried a few crews and found the Lost Lot.
I liked the way everyone communicated with one another and worked together so I asked to become a member.
They were patient to answer my questions and give me tips and suggestions on how to become a better gamer and pirate.
I will never leave this crew because of how they treat all crew members. With patience, friendship and honesty. _________________ "Nothing great in the world has been accomplished without passion."

Looking back, I had a long journey before I finally found the Lost Lot. And a pretty rocky one too...
I started on the Midnight Ocean, though not a subscriber, and I spent much time trying on clothes in tailor shops that I would never be able to have. I also spent a lot of time begging Whoosy to subscribe me. This was, of course, before she became addicted to YPP. The crew I had joined was very disorganized, rarely pillaged, and spent most of their time standing in huge circles on some random island's dock talking about the most unpiratey subjects. Now I realized though that because I was so new to the game and no one was offering me the opportunity to learn, I must have really been a bothersome greenie...oh well
After leaving this crew because I had learned that you could get dubs without paying RL money, I went to the Viridian Ocean for a new start. (This was about the time I got Whoosy hooked on YPP and she immediately join TLL, back in the day when they were part of The Light Brigade.) On Viridian, not knowing how to select or judge whether or not a crew was worth joining, I joined with yet another disorganized crew. Here I learned a lot more about the puzzles, but the crew wasn't very good. In the end, they promoted me to officer even though I told them that I could not fulfill the (tough) officer requirements of pillaging EVERY DAY for a whole hour, no exceptions. I got into an argument with one of the other officers and was planning to tell them what I thought was wrong with the crew and then make a dramatic exit, but I never got the chance because that is when I moved to the Sage Ocean.
I made the decision to move and directly join the Lost Lot because I had spent a lot of time watching Whoosy engage in crew days, pillages, and lively and interesting conversations with the whole crew. The one thing that impressed me most was something I saw while watching a pillage: the bnav. Having never been part of a even half-decent crew or seen any kind of semi-respectable bnav, I was in awe. The particular bnaver that I happened to see most often and was in most awe of was Udu. I truly believed that no one could ever be better at bnav. He was one of the foremost reasons I joined. So I really owe Udu a ginormous “THANK YE!!!”. I also think that I should give Ara a huge “Thank ye” because when I asked her, as nothing more than a greenie, “Could I join the crew? (and by the way, Whoosy is my mom)” she invited me into the awesome, super, incredible, wonderful, unbelievable, super, incredible (wait, I already said that didn’t I?), ect. crew that I shall always have the best of memories from.
And that is how I came to this awesome, super, incredible, wonderful, unbelievable, super, incredible ect. crew, The Lost Lot!
(quite a novel isn’t it? )
p.s. this is true, to the best of my short memory _________________ Of all the things I've lost...

Weeelll.
A long time ago, on an ocean far far away...
(Because really, does anyone know how far Viridian is from Sage?)
A young pirate named Luteba was jobbing for The Lost Lot.
The captain, whose beard matched the teal-blue waters chopping at the ship, engaged a much larger ship, with many more pirates on board.
Luteba, in excitement, said the captain was crazy.
After the opposing ship had been shot to pieces, and our crew emerged victorious from the sword-fight, the captain said "Now, who was it that called me crazy..."
"LUTEBA! Explain yourself!"
Unfortunately, Luteba had puzzle-vision, and didn't notice she was being admonished until surrounded by snapping sharks.
Marooned on some desert island, she read her chat logs, and sent most profuse apologies to the Captain, trying to explain that she'd only meant it in fun, and that she didn't really think he was suffering from a mental illness. The Captain forgave her, and let her back on board.
The rest of the trip convinced her that this was a captain worth pillaging with. But she was sufficiently impressed that she wanted to start with a clean slate.
Sante had appeared on the ocean some short time before, saw a job with the Lost Lot, took it, and joined as soon as offered: Luteba was abandoned.
The crew moved to Sage only a few days later, and Sante moved with them, I think she was the first Lost Lot cabbie on Sage - the other first members were all officers - I remember Bellflower and Isis being there, in Tealbeard's cabin, with Doubs at about 200 poe...
Ah, now I feel old. Better get back to my knitting. _________________ Sante

My RL wife (Game name Catoosa) started playing PP in March 2006. I was playing a lot of first player shooters (WWII and the such) and she wanted to be in same room with me as we played (which meant I had to plug in the headphones instead of shaking the house with my mega sound system). I started playing PP in May 2006.
I’ve been a member of Forget About It, Siren’s Song and a few others.
One day I thought about it and said “I’m going to buy me a ship” so I did, still being a CP (I don’t think I ever got to the rank of Pirate at that time, but might have). I asked the Capt (Klondor) of my current crew then (Deep Sea Demonz, later renamed to Certifiable Cephalopods) and asked “OK, I bought a ship, now what?” The next thing I knew that I was an officer.
Two weeks later I was an FO (still without any real training). I dove into YPP forums to start reading up on things, started to jump on flag pillages to observe and to ask questions. Then I started to train my fellow officers to get that crew up to where it is now.
I then started my business in shipwrighting (as well as the buying and selling of ships). When it got to the point that I owned ˝ of the ships in that crew, so I was promoted to SO. At December 31, 2006, (when I joined TLL) I owned over 65 ships. I have had personal War Ships in every CCC blockade to date and have had almost 40 War Ships/Cutters sunk in them (and about 4 Sloops shortly afterwards). Note: all of my ships are sinkers except for about 4 of them.
My old Capt, Klondor, and I had some differences of opinions on big issues. At the end of 2006, he decided to pursue some personal goals and break away from CCC. I decided that things were not going to improve there (I was an officer in CC for about 6 months) so I decided to join a crew that knew what they were doing (that and I didn’t want to leave CCC).
Yes, it may sound a bit harsh, talking about my old crew, but there’s even more I’m not going to mention.
I’ve been a member of TLL for about 3 weeks now and haven’t had more fun in the game.
Now, I just need to figure out how everyone gets those ultimates…

I joined the crew as a mostly greenie around July/Aug 2006. My PP experience was only about a month or so old. My first PP experience was with another pirate on Sage and for whatever reason, I ran into really immature folks- with very adult language. My original pirate name must have been very similar (or the same) as another pirate on sage because whatever that pirate did caused me trouble! I was teased and told off and even planked for doing nothing but apply for a job, take it then going onto the ship.
So, to give PP another shot I created a new pirate- Faeree- and within my first week of that pirate I found TLL and asked to join the crew. I was on a sloop with Sindaia or Celestra (sorry! you may have both been aboard! he he) and I was so impressed with the type of communication I asked to join the crew almost immediately - maybe even DURING the pillage! 0.0. (hee hee- after my first experience I knew a good crew when I saw one!!) She said she didn't normally join people to the crew with so little experience/pilly time but I'm glad she did!
I don't think my PP days would have been nearly as entertaining and knowledgeable if it wasn't for this crew! What can I say but TLL is THE BEST! |

That reminds me...I haven't seen either of them in what seems like forever, and neither has been on for a couple weeks at least. Does anyone know where they've gone?

My name is actually Bud. play a lot of first person shooter games and was looking for a good name. I found Bullseye Bud and it stuck.
Actually I think it may be because of dying more than anything else, but it still works. |

Well, the way I found TLL doesn't fit into
any of the choices above in the Poll, but
I found out about TLL by going door-knocking
in my Rags around Admiral, and just happened
to go to Teal's Manor, and just happened to be
let in by Avera, and it just lead from there.
I remember Teal was there, but was not really
paying attention, because she hardly spoke, and
I now realise that it was probably because she was
Multi-clienting ;P
But I asked Teal if I could join the crew (Under the
Kaptain-ship of Kaptain Kathe), and she said yeah, and
then I learnt from Avera's etiquette behavior, like using
Capital Letter's and things like that, and typing words out,
like; 'i gt 2 gt goin' or something like that.
Then there was the Crew Day at Teal's Manor, and I played
Hide-And-Seek for a bit, finding Waldo. And I tied for the
winner!!! (With about 4 other people) So I got a Bandoiler
Jacket (Red/Grey) and then realised I should probably get
crew colours (This is me below in crew colours ) and then
it went from there.
Sorry for spamming the post with my life story
